Lacobel Painted Glass for Furniture

Hi ID professionals,

As mentioned in previous article, Lacobel is a brand of painted glass originated from AGC Europe. In Europe, the penetration of glass usage / application for interior is already very high, its becoming a common thing there. The usage is not only limited for wall covering / cladding, but also popular for furniture as well.

I would like to highlight some Lacobel application for furniture usages. Due to many applications, this information would be disseminated in a few series.

Wardrobe is the most common application for painted glass,

especially for its sliding doors. The sliding doors are made from combination of painted glass and aluminum frame. You can have the sense of depth because of the soft reflection of the glass and the color will accent the room with the mood you like.

In this picture, Lacobel Pure White is used. The bright white color is resulted from the extra clear glass used during its production.

This picture also show similar application, you can see the difference highlight of its aluminum frame. Lacobel Luminous Red (will be available in Sept tentatively – Indonesia only) is used for this application.

The painted glass is usually attached onto a wooden panel to strengthened it and to minimize breakage due to impact.
However, it is common in Australia or Europe, the usage of sliding doors without any wooden panel, so, its just painted glass in an aluminum frame. For this application, the safety back need to be applied for safety reason. In case of breakage, the safety back will hold together the glass shards, thus minimize the risk. Please noted, that the safety back application need to pass certain standard. Currently, AS/NZS 2208 standard, grade A, is consider the strictest standard and made as a reference in Australia.

This picture is an interior design of an apartment room in Slovenia. Lacobel light beige and dark brown had been used to match the tone of the room, its combined perfectly with the other materials in the room thanks to the designer creativity. The lacobel acted as a sliding door which also served as a partition between the room and the walk in wardrobe.

This is the 1st series of the lacobel application for furniture, we’ll come back with more application.
